Import opted-in contacts
Keep an individual consent record for every row in your CSV.
Required consent columns
consent_source: signup_form, checkout, event_form or written_request.consent_at: an ISO timestamp with timezone, such as 2026-09-01T10:00:00Z.consent_evidence: 10–2000 characters identifying the original opt-in record.
Map these alongside the email column in the import dialog. Confirm that every recipient opted in to commercial emails from your business. Blank, invalid or future-dated records block the batch before any new contacts are inserted. An unsubscribed address also blocks the import; remove it before retrying.
API requests
The authenticated creation endpoint requires the same three fields plus consent_confirmed: true. Importing via API does not bypass checks or unsubscribe preferences.
